Just Art Vibez is today sharing author Jessenia L Nieves‘ book Jessie and The Kindness Beads. The book is about a young girl named Jessie, who loves art and keeps to herself on most days. She also cares about her school community, and always seeks to help others. Jessie’s one main obstacle though is that she is bullied daily on her school bus and around school because she is different than others. Jessie is also determined to help her school with a fundraiser for her school’s theater. Therefore, she embarks on a special quest making kindness bead necklaces to help her school with the help of her best friends, Selena and Cody.
Readers will be taken on a heartfelt and adventurous journey as Jessie musters up the courage to speak up for herself along with teaching a lesson of embracing and respecting the differences in others. This is the author’s first children’s book and is also available in Spanish.
About the author: Jessenia L Nieves has always been enthusiastic about writing, she wrote her first children’s book out of the need to empower kid’s to be kind. As a school bus driver she saw so many kids being teased or made fun of how they look. She knew she needed to do something so she wrote her first book Jessie and The Kindness Beads. When the pandemic hit and the schools closed, Nieves rediscovered her love for writing. She now keeps herself busy by writing blogs, taking road trips with her husband and children and spreading love and kindness. Her goal is to write children’s books that teach life lessons while celebrating each child’s distinctiveness and journey. Nieves is from Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. She lives in North Haven, Conn. with her husband and children.
